Impact: Brian’s Story

Impact-Brians-Story

Take Brian*, for example.

Brian is the young man with his arms around the other boys. His physical-posture represents his heart-posture these days.

In 2003, Brian lost his mother and father to illnesses that took their lives too soon. He then moved in with his grandmother, who struggled just to care for him, let alone provide an education.

Four years later, when the struggle became too great, Brian was brought to Oasis. He desperately needed food, water, medical care, and fresh clothes. More than that, he needed an opportunity to become who he was created to be.

Brian started school right away and he was eager to learn. It wasn’t long before he was at the top of his class.

As the years passed and Brian got older, he struggled to understand his potential, his calling, his worthiness. As many children do, he started acting out and struggling in school. During school breaks, Brian received additional encouragement, spiritual guidance, prayer and tutoring in various school subjects. We believed a great future was within reach.

After Brian graduated from high school, he transitioned to a discipleship-focused, vocational school where he could learn the trade of auto mechanics. This is his second year, and he’s loved every minute of it!

This past year, Brian’s relationship with God became real, and his world changed! He began to regularly share his testimony. His grades improved dramatically. And, he was voted Student Body President!

The journey to wholeness is a long one, but with your support, transformation happens. We are confident Brian will one day lead his family, community, and country in integrity and honor, just like he’s leading his peers right now.
