Orphaned and vulnerable children grow up in a generational cycle of poverty and brokenness.

When children come to Oasis, they are often recovering from traumatic situations. Left unaddressed, this trauma doesn’t simply disappear over time.

With comprehensive care, they can experience healing and grow up to be the next generation of changemakers.

Family-Style Homes

Research indicates that orphanage-style homes are not best for the development of a child. That’s why children at Oasis live in small, family-style homes.

Our sites have a neighborhood feel, and each "house" creates space for children to belong and be known. House mamas, aunties, and uncles are always Kenyan to ensure our children have a safe refuge with familiar cultural practices.

Healing Activities

Extracurricular activities like our award-winning chess and basketball programs provide a healing space for children to enjoy being children.

Thanks to our committed, loving team members who guide these activities, students can experience the transformative power of play and build valuable skills like teamwork, perseverance, and discipline.

Better Educational Outcomes

Fewer than half of Kenyan students move on from 8th grade. At Oasis, students not only complete 8th grade but often do so with scores much higher than the national average.

When students pass this pivotal milestone, an alternate future is unlocked. They can pursue higher education at a secondary school or university to chase their dreams.
