The difference one person can make in this world is incomprehensible. When we think of “world changers”, names like Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr, Susan B. Anthony, and Nelson Mandela, come to mind. These people went against all odds, they said “yes”, and they went for it. Our lives are forever changed because of these men and women.
These people, however, are not so different from you and me.
Like you and I, they felt a burden for something more. They felt had a passion to make an impact, and they believed in something bigger than themselves. I’m sure they wondered if they were actually making a difference. I bet there were many days they felt they had taken on too much. Yet, they persevered. They fought. They continued choosing in. Paradigms shifted, and the world was left better, more whole than it was.
We all have something inside of us that yearns for more. When children are hurting, abused, starved, or neglected, the Lord’s heart breaks. Heaven on Earth is what He longs for. It’s also what we long for. Where these is lack, we have been empowered to help these children and bring wholeness.
One person’s “yes” provides food for a child who would otherwise be starving.
One person’s “yes” treats a child’s medical condition that would otherwise bring extreme harm and illness.
One person’s “yes” provides counseling to a child so he/she can process through past hurt, tragedy, and heartache, and step into full healing and wholeness.
One person’s “yes” enables a child to go to school for the first time!
One person’s “yes” DOES make a difference. YOUR “yes” makes a difference. Kindness and grace received is often passed on, so the ripple effect of ONE person is indeed a mighty force. We are thankful for every person that has said, “yes”, to these children!
